Aspect ratio beats resolution
Every network expects a specific ratio (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, 1.91:1). Hitting the right ratio matters more than absolute pixel dimensions, because off-ratio crops always lose the edges.
Stay below compression ceilings
Networks compress aggressively above 1080 to 1440px wide. Exporting at the recommended size gives the cleanest output and keeps file size small enough to upload over a phone connection.
