A trend is a sudden surge in a specific sound, format, topic, or hashtag that lots of accounts adopt at once. On TikTok and Reels it is often an audio clip or a video structure; on X and Threads it is a phrase or news beat; everywhere it is a shared reference the algorithm is actively pushing while it is hot. Why creators care about trends
