What is a target audience?

A target audience is the specific group of people a brand is trying to reach, defined by traits like age, location, interests, job, income, habits, and the problems they are trying to solve. It is the answer to "who is this post for?" The tighter the answer, the sharper the content.

Why a target audience matters

Content written for everyone lands with no one. When you know your target audience, you know which platforms they live on, what tone they respond to, what they search for, and what they scroll past. That knowledge turns guesswork into decisions: what to post, when, and in what voice.
