What is the For You Page?

The For You Page, or FYP, is the first screen you see when you open TikTok. It's a personalized, algorithmic feed that plays one video after another, picked for you based on what you've watched, liked, shared, and lingered on. Unlike a follower feed, the FYP is built to show you content from accounts you've never heard of, which is exactly why creators chase it.

Why the FYP matters

For most TikTok accounts, the FYP is where reach comes from. A video that lands on enough For You Pages can pull in views and followers far beyond your existing audience. The algorithm decides distribution: it shows your video to a small test batch, watches how they react (watch time, replays, shares, comments), and either pushes it wider or lets it cool off.

How a video earns its way onto the FYP
