The Explore Page is Instagram's discovery surface, the grid under the search tab where the algorithm shows your posts and Reels to people who don't follow you.

What is the Explore Page?

The Explore Page is the grid you land on when you tap the search (magnifying glass) icon in Instagram. It's a personalized discovery feed, filled with posts, Reels, and accounts the algorithm thinks you'll like based on what you've engaged with before. Crucially, almost everything on it comes from accounts you don't follow, which makes it one of the main ways strangers discover your content.

Why the Explore Page matters

Your follower feed only reaches people who already follow you. The Explore Page reaches everyone else. When the algorithm decides a post deserves wider distribution, it places it on the Explore Pages of users with similar interests, which can drive a wave of new reach, profile visits, and follows. How Explore differs from the feed and hashtags
